As dusk settled over the sports field, hundreds of boys gathered to break their Ramadan fast together — a moment of unity, generosity, and shared hope organized by Gate of Hope.
During the holy month of Ramadan, Gate of Hope organised a large-scale outdoor Iftar gathering for youth on a local sports field. As the evening call to prayer echoed across the city, hundreds of boys sat side by side along a long communal table set on the green turf, sharing a warm meal to break their fast.
The scene was a powerful testament to the spirit of community and solidarity that Gate of Hope strives to foster. Volunteers and staff worked tirelessly to prepare and distribute meals, ensuring that every child — regardless of background or circumstance — had a place at the table.
For many of the children present, this gathering offered more than nourishment. It provided a sense of belonging and the reassurance that they are seen, valued, and supported. Ramadan is a time of reflection and giving, and events like this embody Gate of Hope's commitment to serving the most vulnerable members of Afghan society.
Gate of Hope continues to mark occasions of spiritual significance with acts of humanitarian generosity — believing that feeding the hungry and bringing communities together are among the most meaningful expressions of hope in a nation facing profound hardship.
